Go Back! New FatStax “Back Button” Is Here

By | Business Mobility, Feature Friday, Mobile Productivity Tools

Sales hacks are what FatStax sales apps are all about.  We’ve built in super fast search for products, enabled jump-links to create up selling opportunities, and empowered distributors with custom mobile landing pages.   But…

…sometimes it’s the simple things in life, like a “back button,” that help the most.

Having a back button is a natural extension of custom designed FatStax mobile pages that allow your end-users to, yep!, go back to the previous page in the app.  (Dang that seems offly simple when I write that.)  Ultimately, we hope this feature will drive more creativity for presenting information to users offline on their mobile devices.

How it works

This is amazingly simple.  When you tap the back button  >  the app will display the last page you opened.  Just like a web browser’s back button!

mobile sales tool tricks

Just like a website, the back button will save your history up to where you started your session in your app.

Benefits

Instead of starting over every time you want find something you talked about previously in your mobile sales app users can rapidly jump back to Feature Pages and previously discussed products when meeting with customers.

FatStax Admins and designers can take even more advantage of custom mobile app page designs to build Landing Pages that act as jumping off points for a variety of product files or individual products.

Further, the back button will be essential for FatStax teams that take advantage of Infinite Categories in their app.

So what’s next?

Creating a better product for our customers is our promise, and now it’s time to take full advantage of it. The back button, simple as it may be, will help you create a better user experience with less taps and clicks.  The back button will be included in Fatstax 3.0 for all users upon release.

A Handy Home Button

We received quite a few requests from you to create a way to easily return to the Home Screen when deep in a category. FatStax 2.4 adds this Home button feature. New Stacks View

Content-Management-iPad

A Stack is an easy way to send multiple items in a single email. Bundles enable you to send customized groups of items you can add to a stack with a single tap. All of the Stacks functionalities remain the same, we simply adjusted the location of the List of Stacks to the top and center while creating a single catch-all Action button. Any editing, adding or emailing of Stacks and Bundles can be found by tapping on the Action button in the upper-right corner. The Action button also appears while viewing any resource in your catalog.

App Performance Improvements

You’ll notice FatStax 2.4 to run quicker and be more reliable. This will leave you more time to sell and be sure your content is available offline. We optimized the app’s download speed, search speed and startup responsiveness. The amount of time you previously spent waiting on resources and information to load will dwindle, becoming even faster.. This means you can add even more information to your catalogs with less syncing down time.

How To Communicate with Sales Teams in Your iPad Sales App

By | Feature Friday

Many other sales apps on the market constrain companies from a fully customizable experience and not allowing them to communicate with sales teams in the field.

Say you have new company information you want to push out to your field reps. Or there’s a new product configurator you want to give them mobile access to.

There are a million things you might want to communicate with sales teams, but are limited by other sales apps.

FatStax provides you a flexible canvas, allowing you to communicate with your sales team however you want. We call it our Quick Links page.

By copying HTML and pasting it in our CloudStax content management system, you can turn your Quick Links page into a customizable sales portal of company news and vital information your sales reps in the field need.

Maybe you want to include an ROI calculator, a product configurator, punch out to a sales asset on your company website: the options are practically endless. We want your sales app to be as effective of a mobile sales tool as possible, and give you the space to make it just that.

Quick Links gives marketers the digital bulletin board they need to communicate and share important company information and tools to their sales reps in the field.

The possibilities for customizing the home screen are limitless, giving marketers a custom-branded iPad app to increase sales cycles at a fraction of the cost of DIY apps.

FatStax Feature Friday – How Full Text Search Can Save You in the Field

By | Feature Friday

Using full text search in the field can be a valuable asset for any sales rep using FatStax in the field.

Let’s say while in conversation with a customer, they bring up something you know lives somewhere in your catalog but don’t know exactly where. You don’t know the category. You don’t know which page. You’re hosed right? Nope!

This is where full text search saves the day, and the sale!

  1. When you open your search bar, make sure you’ve selected to search in full text mode.
  2. Type in the search bar the phrase that came up in conversation.
  3. As you type, the pages below that match what you’re searching for will filter in.
  4. When you’ve found the right page matching your search, tap on the page and it will pop up.

Just like any search option, this is a quick and easy way to find the right page without having the search in front of the customer.

By | Feature Friday

Searching is fast and simple within FatStax, even with 1000’s of items or pages in your catalog.

Step 1: Open FatStax and tap Search button

Step 2: Start typing

As soon as you tap search, the keyboard appears and the cursor flashes in the search bar, ready for input.

SKUs appear on the item page, under the “SKU” table header.3. Searching by Full Text searches through any and all text that appears on the item page, including Name and SKU.You can simply tap the buttons when the search term is in the search box to rotate through the different refining options. You do not need to start over with a new search.

Step 4: Tap the item to view its Page

FatStax Feature Friday – How to Search in a PDF with FatStax

By | Feature Friday

In this week’s FatStax Feature Friday, we’re showing you how to search in a PDF while using you FatStax catalog app.

PDF files are great tools in sales and marketing for sharing a lot of rich media in a document. Sometimes, however, many large PDF files with numerous pages are difficult to navigate. Either the person who created the PDF did not include a table of contents or left out an index at the end of the document.

But fear not! There is a simple way to sift through all those pages in that PDF when all you are looking for is a keyword or a long tail phrase buried somewhere within your document.

That wraps up this week’s FatStax Feature Friday. If you have a suggestion for next week’s Feature Friday, just comment below and we’ll highlight it! We have also added a new category to our blog where you can find all of our previous Feature Friday posts!

FatStax Feature Friday – Use iPad Voice Dictation in your Sales App

By | Feature Friday

Utilizing the iPad voice dictation tool available in your sales app will make creating customer notes simple and easy for any sales rep.

When making notes in your FatStax catalog, reminding yourself about that new prospect meeting in iCalendar, or just composing an email to your manager that you closed the deal, you can hit the microphone button on your iPad keyboard and the device with start dictating what you say into text. This can be useful if you have your hands full or are unable to type on the keyboard itself.

How to use Voice Dictation on your iPad

Bring up the iPad keyboard and tap the microphone button to the left of the space bar. By doing this, you activate Siri on your device. Because of this, your words will not appear as you speak until you tap the microphone button when finished.

ipad-start-siri-voice-dictation

You can also add punctuation using this function too. As you speak, say which punctuation you want to use while saying your sentence. For example, say you want your text to appear as “Hello, how was your demo today?” You would have to speak to Siri like this: [Tap microphone] “Hello comma how was your demo today question mark” [tap microphone again].

You can say different typography, emoticons, currency signs, or even all caps. You can find a full list of voice dictation commands here.

The one thing you can’t do using Siri voice dictation is delete or backspace what you already dictated. For that, you have to tap the backspace button on your iPad keyboard. In addition, if you save a note in your FatStax catalog you’ll have to tap the send button to make sure it is captured for later viewing or just add a new Stack.

Most important thing to remember when using voice dictation is to speak slowly and clearly. This way, Siri will understand and dictate what you spoke correctly the first time.
